AidNearby ("the app") helps you find community resources such as housing, food, health, school, and urgent help services near you. This policy explains what information the app collects and how it's used.

Information we collect

• ZIP code. If you enter your ZIP code, it's stored on your device and used to sort and show resources near you.
• Saved resources. Resources you save are stored on your device, not tied to any personal account.
• Usage analytics. We use PostHog to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as which screens are viewed) to help us improve the app. This data is not linked to your name or contact information.

The app does not require account creation or login, and we do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.

How we use information

Information is used only to show you relevant nearby resources and to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. We do not sell your information.

Third-party services

The app uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — hosts the resource directory data the app displays.
• PostHog — provides anonymous usage analytics.

Data storage and security

Your ZIP code and saved resources are stored locally on your device. Resource directory data is retrieved from our backend as needed. We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by the app, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Children's privacy

AidNearby is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your choices

You can clear your saved ZIP code and saved resources at any time by clearing the app's local data, or by uninstalling the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
